Thai & Fly – The Art of Giving and Receiving
Thai Massage is a living tradition in which the practitioner uses thumbs, hands, elbows, knees and feet to release musculoskeletal tension, provide gentle traction, stimulate acupressure points, and create greater mobility and freedom within the receiver’s body.
Therapeutic flight, or “Thai in the Sky,” uses all these elements, plus the miracle of gravity and human flight to silence the inner critic, expand the receiver’s sense of “selfless self,” and create space in the spirit and length in the spine.
All of this is facilitated by the presence of Metta – Loving Kindness – and a deep experience of all things positive in the healing environment. All participants will learn how to give AND receive these gifts with strength and surrender. You will practice deep awareness of your own body, breath, movement and energy. In addition to learning how to provide comfort to those we love, this workshop aims to help the “giver” learn to move with grace and alignment, in connected asana practice while administering Thai Yoga. With a focus on proper technique, compassion, and intuition, this 6hour healing session provides therapeutic benefit for everyone in the room, at all times, regardless of role.
Entrance to the Thai Fly Workshop on 8/30. Ticket holders must have a Yoga Jam festival ticket to stay onsite after 6pm on 8/30, this ticket allows 3 & 4 day ticket holders to arrive Thursday 8/30 after 7am.
